"The Tea Store" was founded by Erika and Udo Jansen in
1996 with the intent of introducing choice and rare teas to the
local tea enthusiasts. Great care and effort went into finding teas
that are organically grown or certified teas that are checked for
residue of herbicide and pesticide.
Steve Sakai joined the company as general manager in 2002. He has
been involved in the tea industry for many years and has a particular
interest and a profound knowledge regarding green teas. His passion
for food and beverages led him to completing the French culinary
program at Dubrulle as well as a series of wine courses through
the International Sommelier Guild.
